time for a journey....

I've found myself drifting the past few days... not quite sure of what to do with myself, despite there being so many choices. I suppose this means it's time to go...home. To my other home. Time for the grind and self-induced structure. For unpredictability in the predictable. So, Boston, here I come.

There are so many exciting things coming in this new year. A new website, new songs, new gigs, new places, old friends, new friends... I am thrilled and terrified for it all. I think that's a good sign. I like re-learning what life is supposed to be about every single day.

Bon Iver has a song, Wisconsin, where it says it pretty perfectly.

"That was Wisconsin that was yesterday
Now I have nothing that I can keep
Cause every place I go I take another place with me
Love is loves mystique" --Bon Iver

Thanks, Bon.

SWEET DISASTER

Hey folks!

Ed Faris just mixed another one of my tunes, Sweet Disaster, and it is now available for your listening pleasure on www.myspace.com/alicialemke! It's a piano/vocal with Josh playing his amazing piano part.

Gerry Putnam is a genius with recording, and Ed did a fantastic job mixing. I am blessed to have friends with such fine ears :-)

Winter show at Lake Morey Resort, VT

I am currently in NH at Cedar House Sound and mastering, rehearsing for a winter show at Lake Morey Resort (tonight!!). Rivendell Academy invited my band to come play for their first annual winter show, alongside two other Berklee students. Jess Delgado and I will be singing Winter Song as a duet, and then the whole band is playing a set. Should be a blast. It's an honor to be chosen for their first annual show.

On another note, tequila before bed = an unhappy head. nonsequitur, maybe. But it's reality.

Inspiration of the day from Debra Mcann

I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone.

My first Blog!

Hello hello!

I finally have my blog up, as the first part of my up-and-coming website! Cindy Segura is a design goddess, and is helping me put together this absolutely wonderful site... I can't wait to share it with all of you!

I am currently in NH finishing up a recording of my new tune, "You Got Your Way Again." The song should be done... tonight! Then it's off to be mixed, and will be coming out with the new site.

Did I mention it is snowing outside? Flakes are whisping by the window of Cedar House Sound and Mastering. I feel at peace :-)

be well!
